Scrambled crosswalks could return to Freddy

The Daily Gleaner has a story about Fredericton City Hall considering a return to scrambled crosswalks, that allow pedestrians to cross in all directions at the right light (which allows for diagonal crossing). While safer for pedestrians, this system is expected to slow down vehicle traffic.

It will be interesting to see how this decision goes.  Imagine, a city deciding to go with a policy that favours the heel over toe crowd over the gas guzzlers.

One can dream.
