Wood construction

Treehugger posted an article today about an upswing in the use of wood in constructing large buildings.

According to the article one of the drivers of this trend in BC is changes in the BC building codes which now allow for six story construction to be wood framed (it was four, which I believe is the maximum height of wood buildings in NB).  The rules were changed in part due to environmental concerns related to concrete and steel construction.

Perhaps this sort of change in building codes could be good for the softened market for softwood on this side of the country.
