Industrial Museum
I read an interesting letter in the Telegraph Journal suggesting the city should focus energy on creating a unique tourist attraction such as a museum celebrating industrial history. A large scale museum or other project of this nature could become a landmark building in a waterfront development scheme and has the potential of drawing in tourists. Even if the museum wouldn't draw people here on its own, it could well become part of our tourism package - adding another feature that would make Saint John an interesting place to visit.
While a racino or casino has potential to draw tourists, the competition in the market such entertainment is great.
If Saint John were to build a unique attraction (and incorporate perks like an IMAX theater) we might see the increased entertainment revenues that some are hoping for from a casino.
