Earth Day Sunday

I had some good Earth Day experiences this Sunday. I took in a service at the Church of St. Andrew St. David on Germain Street and heard a message about environmental stewardship and learned that the church is making efforts in this regard by stopping the use of Styrofoam in favour of less wasteful means of holding food and drinks.

I then headed to Rockwood Park for Earth Day celebrations. I was hoping to participate in a beach clean up but seemed to miss that. Still, I was impressed by the park as I had not visited the Lily Lake pavilion since its renovations. It is a nice building and the boardwalk along the front is a definite improvement from the sagging wood I remember venturing out on in high school.
I took this photo of some kayaks on the Lily Lake beach.
