CenterBeam Place

It's funny how my route through uptown has become so routine that I have missed walking along Canterbury Street since the tarps in front of the gap over the former Ming's have come down.

Now that I've gone by, I am impressed with the four storey brick structure that has been added to CenterBeam Place. This to me is a great example of how a developer can create something new and improved with heritage as a basis. While I'm surprised by the lack of ornamentation, I think this is a positive addition.

The developer at CentreBeam Place had the advantage of having floor plates that were possible to match up, allowing for viable commercial space. By adding this new floor area, the project should provide further flexibility to the developer and tenants.

By identifying a heritage area that had the potential to put put to a productive use, Commercial Properties Ltd. have set the bar for local redevelopments.
