City to buy Coast Guard site for private development

According to a City press release the city hasn’t seen a “major private development on the City’s waterfront since 1992.”  With a mind to change this, council has approved the purchase of the Coast Guard site from the federal government.  This property is then set to be sold to a private developer who will hopefully put up a mix of buildings.

The land purchase will start in April.
