Development includes affordable housing to increase height

I read a cool story out of Toronto.

Apparently the city’s official plan a payment must be made by developers who want to build denser than zoning allows.  This money is meant to benefit the community. 

The article that is linked above talks about a new 41 storey development that will include affordable housing for staff as a means of using this “community benefit” money.
