Crescent Valley Improvements

I believe integrated housing development for lower income citizens is important; developments that bring a diversity of people together are more positive than segregating people by economic status. Still, there are neighbourhoods that were designed in the past that concentrate poverty in clusters of public housing.

I don't understand what it is like to live in these neighbourhoods, but can imagine that it could at times become discouraging.

Fortunately for the Crescent Valley community in Saint John, public space including a major playground is being planned to provide recreational amenities for the young members of the community.

While not necessarily a cure all, when the province, the city and community groups step in (as reported on 94.1 FM news) to assist residences in raising funds for these sorts of projects, the community likely benefits.
