Mayor wants more parking lots, fewer buildings
Perhaps our Mayor should apply to District 8 to go back into teaching. He could teach history. He seems to be better at looking into the past than into the future.
In the Telegraph Jounral today, Mayor Court has made it clear he doesn't want to see Long Wharf developed with the Irving Oil headquarters. He thinks the port (which is not under municipal jurisdiction) would be better off using Long Wharf as a surface parking lot.
He projects parking revenue that would be into the millions. He forgets however, Irving Oil uses a lot of uptown parking, and won't need this if they move from the uptown.
