Ivan Court, "anti-business, anti-prosperity, and regressive"

In a letter to the editor of the Telegraph Journal published today, Shelley Poirier questions the logic of using Long Wharf for parking. The letter starts out strong, with:

  • "I stood in shock as I read "Dollars and Sense" (July 28). Who does Mayor Court think is going to park in this parking lot, when it appears that the head of our municipality is anti-business, anti-prosperity, and regressive instead of looking forward"
And keeps going strong with a barrage of necessary questions:
  • What are the real issues here? Are the mayor and others on council indebted to Mr. LeBlanc and Mr. Riley?
  • Is this payback for the LNG agreement? Is this the fight for the win the anti-LNG group didn't get?
  • If it were Xerox, GM or Bell would we have the same political hesitation?
The letter concludes with a call to action asking people top contact councillors and make their support of the Irving HQ project heard.
