Live Search Maps: Detailed Saint John aerial photos

I was excited last year when the GIS department at the City of Saint John put up their web mapping that had detailed aerial photos of the city. This photography is far superior to the Google Maps whose satellite version of Saint John is a pink blur.

Live Search Maps presents aerial photos of the city that are detailed (rather than a vague blur) and integrates direction searches and other functions in a way similar to Google. I am pretty impressed with the photos that seem to be newer than the 2006 aerials presented on the city's mapping (note the presence of a cruise tent rather than a cargo shed on Long Wharf). Interestingly, there was a cruise at the Pugsley wharf on the day the photos were taken, and you can get a pretty close look at the deck.

I'm impressed.
