Share your ride

I know the Saint John Transit and Parking commissions have an online tool called Share Your Ride at www.shareyourride.ca. The site is supposed to help coordinate carpooling. I haven't heard how well it is doing, but running a website like this is cheap so even a little uptake probably justifies it.

I heard recently on the radio that Halifax is working on a similar website that will also help people organize walking and cycling groups, to help these human-powered commuters to find groups of people to travel with (for companionship and safety).
