Could the City Leave City Hall

According to CHSJ 94.1 FM news, Ward 4 (East Saint John) Councillor John Mackenzie thinks the city should consider options to stop renting space in the building know as the City Hall building. The article indicates that the rent for the space is around $1.7 million per year.

One possible location for city staff to move that the council thinks would be worth considering, according to the 94.1 FM report, is the former Synagogue on Carleton Street. The City already owns that building, but renovations would be expensive to make this work. Another idea was to locate some offices in the multi-story section of the City Market.
