Princess and Charlotte Street
I am thinking about the heritage regulations in Saint John and what they might mean for the redevelopment of the property destroyed by fire at the corner of Princess Street and Charlotte Street.
While exact heights in the neighbourhood aren’t at my finger tips, it looks like, using Google Streetview, most the buildings are two to three storeys.
I would expect a redevelopment of the site would involved a 3 storey building with some sort of commercial ground floor (due to B3 zoning) and upper floor apartments.
I hope to see a quality building take shape on this site.

Overheard Paul Daeres being asked at Costco about the theatre and him responding 'it has to come down'.
In the 'public interest' can the city expropriate that property?
That site is owned by the man who owned the store. His name is Cyrus Hajizadeh. Don't know if I spelt it correctly. I saw him uptown Yesterday with people in suits. He said he wants to build quickly.
