Vancouver safe injection clinic allowed to stay open

CBC reports that the Insite safe injection clinic in Vancouver will be allowed to remain open, after a ruling by the Supreme Court of Canada.

The clinic will be exempt from certain drug laws, allowing it to continue in its mandate to provide a safe place for drug injection users to inject and receive health services.

According to the CBC, the court ruled that forcing the clinic to close would violate “fundamental justice” and would be negative for public health.
