Cost of Poverty in NB
For those of Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives has published an interesting study discussing the economic costs of poverty in New Brunswick.
An interesting quote from the piece:
“If you are living in poverty, you are more likely to not be able to afford to eat healthy, you are more likely to be exposed to health hazards at home because of living in cold, damp or unsafe housing.”
By addressing the causes and symptoms of poverty we can ensure more citizens are able to live healthy productive lives. This articles shows that dealing with poverty goes beyond morality and actually impacts economic well being of the province as a whole.
