Tannery Court- June 13, 2010

Work continues at Tannery Court.  A couple of guys were working on the exterior of the building this morning.tannery court june 13 1

The other day someone posted about how the alternating siding is supposed to create a visual break in the building to better fit into the community.  I wonder if the foundation will be adapted for this same purpose – because proposed trompe l'oeil is disrupted by the single concrete wall at the base.

Why would the developer care at this point - it was a modification to get through the PAC process. The whole project has a bare minimum approach. The siding is simply one of many examples of that approach. AVIDE/Coop Atlantic certainly had a different approach when developing luxury condos in PEI - follow this link: http://www.avide.ca/e/paoli1.htm

Ironically this is how AVIDE describes on its' website these luxury condos... "Nowhere else does a simple telling of one’s street address say so much. And nowhere else does the unique sensibility and charm of the city, and Prince
Edward Island itself, come alive in such a soaring expression of vision – made alive by a group of owners who believe life is worth living to its fullest."

..and those opposing Tannery Court have been called snobs.
