Property tax season

I haven’t been to the “public square” much this week so I haven’t heard too much about people’s property tax bills yet.  I wonder if assessments are up a lot this year.  I also wonder how people in SJ are reacting to higher tax bills, which are likely as the tax rate was unchanged for last year.

With talk of reforming the system to limit assessment increases it might be necessary for assessors to increase assessments in the next few years to bring them to “fair value” numbers, before a cap is put in place.
