Kingston subdivision
It’s been a while since I’ve posted about the proposed Kingston Peninsula subdivision proposal. 94.1 FM News reported today that the developer is going to hear in a few weeks if his development is approved by the province.
The two Facebook groups that formed to oppose this development now have a total of 750 members.

I commend UpTown Saint John for taking an interest in surrounding communities that contribute to Saint John's vibrant core.
Subdivision projects (as proposed in Kingston subdivision) create a multitude of stressors that threaten the vibrancy of the city as well as the ecology upon which the city depends. The consequences of urban sprawl on human health are well understood (see for example: Urban Sprawl and Public Health, Designing Healthy Cities etc).
Mr Peacock is promoting a suburb in the media. The media would be well advised to check the accuracy of his statements. Latest example: Mr. Peacock has not yet even presented his subdivision plan to the province! Even if he submits today, a project of this size, on an environmentally sensitive area will not be simply passed in two weeks.
