I stumbled across this garden at the foot of Duke Street. I’m not sure if this is a community garden or on private property, but it’s definitely a neat spot of green just up the hill from the railway tracks by Courtney Bay.

This lovely garden is the work of a talented local gardener. He keeps many wonderful gardens on his and neighbouring backyards. His approach to growing is very holistic (and organic). He is an inspiring individual.
What a great way to turn a neglected fringe of land into a productive and beautiful space. The City of Saint John has tonnes of potential for urban food growing. Believe it or not, plants grow just fine with the cool weather and foggy days.
