Uptown development activity (May 5, 2009)

Cranes from Irving Equipment are setting up for some pile driving on Long Wharf.  At this stage these must be for testing purposes.long wharf may 5 2009

Up Union Street, the Market Square expansion is still keeping me interested and a group of workers busy.

The Saint John Port Authority’s Cruise Terminal is almost ready for the fist ship in June, with landscaping work around the site ongoing.  cruise terminal

Also on Water Street, there is some activity going on in the building adjacent to the Distant Waters tourist shop.  I don’t know what’s going into the building, but it would be good to see some more cruise/tourist related businesses opening up near the cruise terminal. water street renovations

Tourism related shops would be nice on Water Street, but frankly anything going in there would be better than the empty storefronts falling into disrepair.

Renovations are happening on the second floor of this building with an exciting tenant to be announced soon. . The ground floor is for lease... the Landlord would work with a Tenant and is offering free rent if the Tenant invests in the rehab...
