Tannery Court proponent doesn't believe in mixed income model

This morning's local CBC newscast discussed opposition to the 51 apartment Tannery Court development proposed for Carmarthen Street. Opponents calling for a mixed income approach to addressing housing needs were rebuffed by the developer who said that market units are hard to rent when a building has subsidized non-elderly single apartments. It seems this proponent isn't familiar with the low vacancy rate at the 52 apartment Leinster Court less than a 1/2 km away, where half of the apartments are rented to non-elderly singles through a NB housing assisted rental program.
