The Reversing Falls: The Fundy Vortex

A consultant's report suggests some dramatic changes for Reversing Falls. One idea is a name change. Two proposed names are the Fundy Vortex and The Billion Gallon Rush.

Another idea is the installation of a zip line for adventure seekers who want to fly across the falls attached to a cable. Years ago my father brought me on the Jet Boat for my 16th birthday, and I loved the rush of the experience. The idea of adding more adventure-tourism to the falls is pretty cool.

I'm sure there will be resistance to a name change, and locals will likely never stop calling the area Reversing Falls. Still some of the ideas seem strong: like moving the restaurant to allow for better use of view planes.

Some ideas are pricey, but the Waterfront Development Partnership should put some serious thought into the proposal and try to create a "world class" tourist attraction.
