Maybe a movie house

The City of Saint John bought the synagogue on Wellington Row and Carleton Street with plans to tear it down to make way for the proposed police station. Plans changed, and now the city is looking to unload the building.

It would be really cool if a developer was able to convert the space into a boutique movie house. Uptown doesn't have a movie theatre, and I bet the yuppies that make their home in the city centre would go see less than mainstream films, classic movies, documentaries and foreign flicks at a cool theatre. It might be tough to make money at it, but I still think this would be awesome. I think a niche could be carved out.

Ultimately I think the best movie viewing dream I have for the city is an IMAX on the waterfront.
