A home of your own

In Saint John one might imagine home ownership as a nice single family home or townhouse. This is what a lot of us associate when we talk about owning a "house." Thus when Habitat for Humanity in Saint John works to provide homes to people in our area they build these types of structures.
In Toronto, on the other hand, many owners are "at home" in condos. So, Habitat for Humanity Toronto has helped two family's move into condo suites in the Etobicoke area of Toronto.
An article in the Toronot Star about this development includes this interesting thought:
According to Habitat for Humanity Toronto, if developers were given incentive to allot 5 per cent of residential highrise projects to affordable housing, it could eliminate the need for Habitat for Humanity Toronto.
