Sugar refinery site: isolated in a sea of non-residential land
A commenter at the Telegraph Journal's article on the importance of the Long Wharf development, pointed out the isolated nature of the former Lantic Sugar refinery site by directing people to http://i35.tinypic.com/efgrd1.jpg.

I think this map helps illustrate that the development opportunity for the sugar refinery site is limited at current (without even going into environmental contamination concerns). Opposing Irving Oil's purchase of this land from the City of Saint John, because of hope for eminent development at the sugar refinery site seems unreasonable.
