Fredericton blogger Charles LeBlanc has had a series of post lately about his town's South Side bottle return depot's closing.

Charles' posts have reminded me of the irony that is my deposit bottle returning ritual. I fill my trunk every few weeks and drive to a bottle depot at Marsh Creek. I know I could walk the few kilometres, but think its a shame that we can't cash in on our recyclables a bit more conveniently.

I read about kiosks that allow for self serve bottle returning in western Europe. It would be easy to return bottles if there was one or two of these in central Saint John.
