Comex

A letter suggesting Comex (commuter express) buses from Hampton and KV was printed in the Telegraph Journal today. The seat belt debate didn't catch my eye though, this quote from the Hampton resident letter writer did:

• "Without this Comex bus run, I'd probably have to consider moving to Saint John, since gas is constantly on the rise and the traffic seems to be getting worse on the highway. I grew up in Hampton and would hate to leave."

I wonder if by making commuting cheaper for some people in outlying areas, is Saint John Transit encouraging suburban living. I further wonder if this potential negative for the City of Saint John is outweighed by the fact that living in the Greater Saint John area is made easier, making the area more competitive with other CMAs.
