North of Union

So the municipal election results have spoken: people in Saint John are more bitter about industry paying "special tax rates" than they were bitter about the building of a new police station at North of Union (though I know I'm hard pressed to determine what is meant by "fair taxation").

I expect that the North of Union project can proceed now that former Deputy Mayor Hooton is no longer on council. Hopefully this is a positive for Uptown Saint John.

Hopefully the new mayor also follows up on the speech that was posted on his website that pointed out that the city had a strong growth strategy written that involves tourism and technology initiatives that we really should move on (the energy hub is great, but a creative vibrant knowledge economy would be great too).
