Leveraging new air service

The Saint John airport announced yesterday that WestJet will be offering 6 days per week flights between Saint John and Toronto on a seasonable basis between May and November.

A shuttle service to Saint John hotels should be set up to accommodate the passengers of this service. This service will help travelers take advantage of the service. With more travelers taking advantage of the seasonal flight service, WestJet might be prompted to increase the number of flights going to Saint John. Also, visitors will have more options available to them in getting to and from the airport.

A shuttle might be a good business venture for a private operator. Downtown hotels and others might be willing to pay for part of the service to attract visitors to their facilities.

Otherwise Saint John Transit might offer the service to ensure our community is offering a complete travel service to visitors and residents.
