High speeds and cycling safety

A blogger at Active Transportation Saint John wrote a piece reacting to calls from a City Councilor to increase the speed on Loch Lomond Road.  The response to Councilor Courts’ proposal is online at: http://atsj.wordpress.com/2010/04/01/councillor-court-wants-speed-limit-increased-to-70kmhr-on-loch-lomond-rd/ and includes several statistics and sources that show that increased speed can result in danger for drivers and for those not in cars.
